BRIDGEVILLE, Penn. (September 19, 2018) — Cimmaron Land is pleased to announce that CEO Kelly O’Bryan da Mota has been selected to take part in the Center for American and International Law’s inaugural Institute for Energy Law (IEL) leadership class.
Ms. O'Bryan da Mota is the founder and CEO of Cimmaron Land, a full-service land services company in the oil and gas industry with its own proprietary project management technology that allows its clients to track their projects’ progress in real time. She holds a JD from the University of Texas, an LL.M in international corporate law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and a BBA in management from Texas A&M University. Her work as a landman has taken her all over the country, serving as a title expert in the Appalachian Basin, the Permian Basin, the Scoop/Stack, the Niobrara Basin, and the Powder River Basin. She also has an extensive legal background, having worked as an attorney after receiving her JD. She founded Cimmaron Land in 2016, hoping to take her expertise as a landman and an attorney and use it to create more streamlined, efficient processes for her clients.
The IEL is one of the divisions of the Center for American International Law, a professional organization founded in Dallas, Texas in 1947. The IEL was founded in 1959 and offers educational and professional development opportunities for lawyers and energy industry professionals through educational courses, conferences, publications, and membership activities. It boasts an international membership of many leading energy companies and attorneys, and a robust slate of activities that span the calendar year.
The IEL leadership class will kick off this week for a leadership retreat and will continue through April 2019 with content specifically targeted to energy attorneys, including webinars, networking events, and programming at IEL’s 70th Annual Oil and Gas Law Conference. Participants will graduate at the 3rd Annual National Young Energy Professionals’ Law Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
“I’m thrilled to have been selected to participate in the IEL class,” said Ms. O’Bryan da Mota. “The participants are a diverse, well-rounded group of professionals and I’m sure we’ll learn a lot from each other. I’m always striving to better myself professionally, and I’m confident that this class will provide professional development opportunities that will enable me to take Cimmaron to the next level.”
