Bridgeville, PA (October 27, 2017) –  The Appalachian Chapter of Women’s Energy Network (WEN) recently appointed Kelly O’Bryan da Mota to serve as Advisory Council Liaison Chair.   In this role, O’Bryan da Mota will act as the primary contact to the WEN Advisory Council, facilitate communications with Advisory Council members and will communicate directly with the President as needs arise.
O’Bryan da Mota serves as the President and CEO of Cimmaron Land, Inc, based in Bridgeville, PA.  Prior to her current role, she worked in project management, quality control and title research at land services companies in Wyoming, Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
O’Bryan da Mota earned a B.B.A. in Business Management at Texas A&M University. Afterwards she attended The University of Texas where she received a J.D. and served as a staff member of the Texas International Law Journal. She jointly received an LL.M. in International Corporate Law from Universidad Complutense in Madrid.
“I am honored to be selected for this role within such an impactful and empowering organization such as WEN,” said O’Bryan da Mota. “WEN is committed to the ongoing development of the energy industry in our region and provides resources, knowledge and a wide network for women in the industry.”
WEN’s vision is to be the premier global organization that educates, attracts, retains, and develops professional women working across the energy value chain. WEN was founded in 1994 by Karyl McCurdy Lawson with the purpose of fostering the  development and advancement of women in energy by developing a strong network. After years of being the sole woman on energy transactions, Karyl believed that many women energy professionals were in the same position, but unable to connect with each other.
Now over 20 years later, WEN continues to offer educational, networking and leadership opportunities to almost 4,000 women nationwide. The Appalachian chapter, founded in 2011, encompasses women in the Appalachian region of West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and surrounding areas.
In addition to WEN, O’Bryan da Mota is active in local organizations including the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL), the Northern Appalachian Landman’s Association (NALA) and the Michael Late Benedum Chapter (MLBC).
